Messy weather on the way with next winter storm

MIDDLETOWN – The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect from Tuesday at 6 a.m. through Wednesday, 6 a.m.

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches are expected along with ice accumulations of one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch expected.

The National Weather Service said motorists should plan on slippery road conditions and a long period of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning and evening commute.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.
