Barn set on fire, swastika painted on wall

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS – State Police are investigating a fire and anti-Semitic graffiti on a barn in the Town of Liberty.

Sullivan County 911 received calls of a structure fire at 30 Mineral Springs Road in White Sulphur Springs at about 5:40 p.m. on January 28.  The White Sulphur Springs Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire.

Police said a check of two barns on the property revealed swastikas painted on the walls.

Sullivan County and state fire investigators responded to the scene and continue the investigation.

After the fire was extinguished a group of Jewish men from the community entered the remains of the building and chanted a sad song.
