Plattekill Dems make first Ulster exec endorsement

GARDINER – The Plattekill Town Democratic Committee is the first to endorse a candidate for Ulster County executive.

The committee voted to back Pat Ryan in the four-way Democratic Party race to replace County Executive Michael Hein, who has been selected for a state commissioner post.

“This is the first endorsement of any candidate in the race for Ulster County executive and highlights the strong support for our campaign all across the county,” Ryan said. “Our message – of enacting a Green New Deal, accelerating economic development, and advancing social justice – is already resonating with voters.”

Marc Rider, Pat Courtney-Strong and Jeff Moran are also vying for the Democratic nomination.

No Republican candidate has emerged at this point in the special election this summer.
