Suspect in latest drug sweep turns himself in


TOWN OF WALLKILL – One of the suspects in the major two-county drug investigation dubbed Bread, White and Blues, who remained at large, turned himself in on Wednesday.

Charles Kavanagh was accompanied by his attorney when he presented himself to state police. He has been charged with operating as a major drug trafficker/profiteer, criminal possession of a controlled substance for possessing eight ounces or more of drugs, criminal sale of drugs, conspiracy with intent to sell, and criminal sale of a narcotic drug.

In total, 29 people from Orange, Dutchess and Rockland counties were charged in connection with two drug conspiracies dealing with heroin, fentanyl and oxycodone pills.
