15-year-old charged in Poughkeepsie double shooting

Police searched the crime scene for clues on Monday

POUGHKEEPSIE – A 15-year-old City of Poughkeepsie youth has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for shooting two men on South Cherry Street in the city on Monday afternoon.

The alleged shooter, who police did not identify because of his age, was remanded to a secure detention center without bail.

One of the victims, a 28-year-old Poughkeepsie man, was shot in the head and remains in critical condition on life support in ICU at an area hospital.

The other victim, a 41-year-old Poughkeepsie man who was walking down the street, was shot in the leg. He was an innocent bystander.
