Stubborn fire displaces four Poughkeepsie families

POUGHKEEPSIE – Fire Tuesday morning left four families homeless as flames ripped through the structure at 124 Winnikee Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie.

All occupants escaped unharmed as firefighters from the City of Poughkeepsie, Arlington and Fairview battled the blaze. One firefighter sustained a foot injury from a nail.

The Red Cross provided temporary housing for the displaced residents.

The cause is under investigation.
