Bloomingburg woman charged with school bus hit-and-run

BLOOMINGBURG – State Police charged a Bloomingburg woman with striking a stopped school bus, with flashing red lights, that was discharging students on Burlingham Road in that hamlet.

Lydia Haug, 24, allegedly struck the bus while driving past it without stopping. Investigation determined Haug was the driving the vehicle that hit the bus.

One day after the February 1 incident, she was located, interviewed and ticketed for overtaking a school bus, leaving the scene of a property damage auto accident and crossing hazardous markings. Other charges are pending and the investigation is continuing, police said.
