One dead, two in serious condition after consuming suspected fentanyl-laced drug

YONKERS – One man is dead and two are in serious condition in a hospital after they used what police believe to be cocaine laced with another drug, possibly fentanyl.

Yonkers Police were called to a gas station at 200 South Broadway on Friday night where they found two men inside the store and a third in a car. The man who died was Mauricio Nunez, 43, of Yonkers. The other two, ages 62 and 43, are also Yonkers residents.

Investigators are working to identify the source of the narcotics and they are urging residents not to consumer any illegal drug including cocaine, heroin, and opioids that may have the potential to be deadly on their own, but laced with fentanyl, may cause death.

Anyone with information about this latest incident or illegal narcotics is urged to call the Yonkers Police Narcotics Unit at 914-377-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential
