Greene Correctional prisoner indicted in murder of cellmate

Paradise

CATSKILL – A Greene County grand jury indicted a former prisoner at Greene Correctional Facility in the Town of Coxsackie on a murder charge in the strangulation death of his cellmate.

Anthony Paradise, 40, allegedly killed Demus Tanner on November 9, 2018.

According to the State Correctional Services website, Paradise has since been transferred to Upstate Correctional Facility in Malone.

Paradise was originally incarcerated on a robbery conviction in Saratoga County.

The indictment was a result of an intense investigation by the State Police, Department of Corrections and Community Supervision and the Greene County District Attorney's Office.
