Orange County Safe Homes expands residential services

NEWBURGH – Orange County Safe Homes is going to be expanding its residential services for domestic violence.

The organization will be more than doubling its safe house facilities for victims, said Executive Director Kellyann Kostyal-Larrier.

“We do have a shelter in a confidential location in the community that has 17 beds and are in the process of building another facility with 20 more beds. It’s the smallest part of our programming,” Kostyal-Larrier said. “The largest part of our programming is non-residential services.”

Safe Homes of Orange County’s mission is to work toward the elimination of intimate partner violence, teen dating violence, and trafficking by providing comprehensive support services to victims and their children, and by increasing public awareness about these issues and encouraging accountability for perpetrators
