Metzger beats Malick in State Senate primary

KIKINGSTON – Jennifer Metzger defeated Pramilla Malick in the Democratic primary for the 42nd State Senate seat. She will face Republican Annie Rabbitt in the November general election.

Metzger received 9,883 votes to Malick’s 6,336.

“We need affordable guaranteed healthcare for everyone,” Metzger said. “We need a strong public education system that relies less on property taxes. We need a clean energy economy that creates good local jobs and protects our environment and wed to get big money out of politics so we can have a government that actually represents us,”

Metzger said people want change in government and they want to be part of it.
