Porr confirmed as deputy Orange County executive

GOSHEN – The Orange County Legislature has unanimously confirmed Harry Porr as deputy county executive.

Previously he served as the county’s director of operations, but because Deputy Executive Wayne Booth is retiring next February, County Executive Steven Neuhaus switched the two men’s roles to make the transition smoother.

Porr, who served as former County Executive Louis Heimbach’s executive assistant some 40 years ago, went on to become Newburgh city manager and later, village administrator in Bronxville.

Neuhaus said Poor is “well liked and respected by his peers, and has a track record of accomplishing things in an efficient manner.”
