Ellenville gets state funding for eight new fire hydrants

ELLENVILLE – The Village of Ellenville has been awarded a $50,000 state grant for the installation of eight new fire hydrants.

Mayor Jeffrey Kaplan said the devices will “help ensure that our local volunteer firefighters can continue to effectively serve the residents of the Village of Ellenville and better protect them in the event of an emergency.”

Senator John Bonacic, who secured the funding, said it will aid the village in its prioritization of public safety while at the same time save taxpayers money.
