RAMAPO – It’s not commonplace to see a horse roaming around in Rockland County these days, but “Oscar” did make a break from his home at the Rudolf Steiner Fellowship Community Farm in the Town of Ramapo on Monday.

Town Police received a report of the loose animal on Ackertown Road at around 7:30 in the morning. Officers located Oscar and it was determined he belonged to the foundation.

Officer Christine Winter, who has extensive experience with horses, applied a lead-line to keep Oscar in place until members of the farm arrived with a horse trailer.

It is believed Oscar got out through a break in the fence, which the farm will locate and repair.
