Maloney wins re-election to Congress

COLD SPRING – Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney defeated Republican James O’Donnell by some 20,000 votes to win another two-year term in Washington.

“It’s been the honor of my life to represent my neighbors in Congress and I look forward to fixing our broken health care system, supporting our veterans, and fighting the heroin and opioid epidemic,” Maloney said early Wednesday morning. “Now is the time to come together across all of our lines of difference to get things done for the Hudson Valley.”

For O’Donnell, he not calling it quits.  He plans to run again in two years.

“I learned a lot through this process and look forward to it, start a little earlier, get a few people on board a little earlier and be successful next time,” he said.

O’Donnell is currently an Orange County legislator.
