FERC approves CPV use of natural gas line

WAWAYANDA – The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has granted approval to place into service the Valley Lateral Project to the CPV electric generating plant in the Town of Wawayanda.

In a July 9 letter from FERC to the Millennium Pipeline Company, the request was approved. “Based on our June 27, 2018 compliance inspection, as well as Millennium’s recent construction status reports, we find that restoration is proceeding satisfactorily,” wrote J. Rich McGuire, director of the FERC Division of Gas-Environment and Engineering.

CPV hopes to operate the electric generating facility using the natural gas piped in from Pennsylvania.

Opponents of the power plant object to the pipeline extension.
