Fatal stabbing victim identified

POUGHKEEPSIE – Police in Poughkeepsie say they man who was stabbed to death on July 4 was Maurice Black, 25, a city resident.

Police responding to 6 Hoffman Avenue found the victim with a single stab wound in the chest. He later died at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital.

Taken into custody at the scene was Michael Baker, 30, also a city resident. Baker was charged with second degree murder and remains in the Dutchess County Jail.
