Poughkeepsie Council to vote Monday on Municipal ID program

POUGHKEEPSIE – After hearing widespread support earlier this week, during a public hearing, the Poughkeepsie Common Council will vote Monday night on whether to adopt the program.  It is on the agenda for Monday night’s council meeting, which will be the last meeting before the usual six-week summer break.

A municipal ID would help those without a government-issued ID to open bank accounts, pick up children at school, use the library and interact with the police.
