Four teens arrested in Highlands Town Hall burglary

HIGHLAND FALLS – Four boys ranging in age from 17 to 18 were arrested by Highland Falls Village Police in connection with the Tuesday night break in at Highlands Town Hall and the thefts of two safes.

They were charged with burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, all as felonies.

Three were sent to the Orange County Jail with bail ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 cash and $30,000 to $150,000 bond. The fourth teen posted bail.

Police Chief Kenneth Scott said the investigation is continuing and more arrests may be made.

Stolen during the burglary were two small safes, one from the town supervisor’s office and one from the court clerk’s office.

Highland Falls Police were assisted by Town of Highlands Police and State Police.
