Liberty man arrested for assault with baseball bat

LIBERTY – A Liberty man is charged with felony assault and possession of a weapon after he allegedly attacked another man in an apartment building on Chestnut Street in the village with an aluminum baseball bat.

Village of Liberty Police said the 32-year-old victim suffered facial injuries from the attack on Wednesday. He was treated at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris.

James Degraw, 45, of Liberty was arrested and charged in the 7 p.m. incident. He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
