Poughkeepsie man charged with endangering minors

POUGHKEEPSIE – A City of Poughkeepsie man was arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office on charges of endangering the welfare of minors as the result of an 11:30 p.m. traffic stop on Wednesday, January 4.

Deputies stopped a car driven by Tajai White, 20, on Parker Avenue in the City of Poughkeepsie for passing a red light. There were three underage juveniles with him ages 14, 13 and 11. They are not related to him.

White is accused of possessing and smoking marijuana in the car. He was charged with three counts each of endangering the welfare of a child and unlawfully dealing with a child, unlawful possession of marijuana and passing a red light. He was released on appearance tickets returnable to Poughkeepsie City Court.
