Another Republican wants to challenge Maloney

Buchanan

PUTNAM VALLEY – A 12-year veteran of the New York City Police Department is seeking the Republican nomination for the 18th Congressional District seat currently held by Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney.

Jarred Buchanan of Putnam Valley is targeting issues of Second Amendment rights, deteriorated infrastructure, and taxes.

“We could cut taxes even further, put money back in the pockets of hard working Americans,” Buchanan said. “I believe that our federal income tax burden must be cut as deep as we can possibly cut it so people can build businesses, people can build their homes, their lives, without going to debt and the more money in their pocket the absolute better.”

Other Republicans in the race are Orange County Legislator and former State Police Commander James O’Donnell of Goshen, who announced earlier this month, and Sakima Brown, a West Point graduate and Iraqi war veteran, from Poughkeepsie, who announced a few months ago on Facebook.
