Town of Poughkeepsie man arrested as New Hampshire fugitive


TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Town of Poughkeepsie man, wanted as a fugitive from justice in Cheshire County, New Hampshire, is in the Dutchess County Jail.

At about 7 p.m. Monday, town police received information that Joseph Crocco, 41, of 134 Innis Avenue in Poughkeepsie, was spotted at Mountain Brook Estates there.

Residents were evacuated from neighboring apartments and the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Crisis Negotiating Unit unsuccessfully attempted to make phone contact. Officers then made entry to the apartment and arrested Crocco without incident.

Assisting at the scene were the Poughkeepsie City Police and the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.
