Three Poughkeepsie fire victims identified

POUGHKEEPSIE – Three of the four victims killed in the 61 Academy Street fire in the City of Poughkeepsie early last Monday, have been identified by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Officer.

Police on Friday released the identities of two of the victims – Eduardo Young, 36, of the City of Poughkeepsie and Shanate Fowler, 28, of Long Island. The third identity is being withheld pending notification of relatives.

The medical examiner’s office is working on identifying the fourth body.

Investigators determined the fire was started accidentally by candles.
