Fire heavily damages Jeffersonville home

JEFFERSONVILLE – Fire at a two-story house at 4850 Route 52 in Jeffersonville Thursday morning left the building uninhabitable as the blaze caused a lot of damage.

Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. and remained on the scene for over four hours.

One person lived at the house and she was not home at the time of the two-alarm fire, said Sullivan County Fire Coordinator John Hauschild.

There were no injuries and the cause is being investigated by the county fire investigation team.

Several area fire departments were called to assist in the firefighting operations.
