Poughkeepsie man arrested for snatching elderly woman’s purse


POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie man is under arrest following the forcible theft of a 79-year-old woman’s pocketbook.

Howard Hill, 41, allegedly stole the purse from the woman as she was getting into her car in a parking lot near Main Street on Monday.

Several witnesses provided a description of the perpetrator and after a brief foot chase, Poughkeepsie Town Police apprehended him.

Hill was charged with felony robbery and sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
