Cortlandt man arrested for weapons possession following domestic dispute

CORTLANDT – State Police on Thursday arrested a Cortlandt Manor man following a domestic dispute in which he allegedly menaced an acquaintance with an AR-15-style assault rifle.

Police charged Gary Carbone, Jr., 28, with four counts of criminal possession of a weapon, all as felonies, and menacing as a misdemeanor.

Carbone allegedly menaced a friend with the assault-style weapon before physically removing her from his residence. A loaded, unregistered, Ruger AR-556 was found in his home.

Carbone was sent to the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or bond.
