Cell phone thief turns himself in


NEWBURGH – The man caught on surveillance camera in the lobby of the Newburgh City Police station lifting someone’s iPhone has turned himself in.

City Police said Christian Jaca, 25, of New Windsor came to headquarters on Friday. He was charged with petit larceny, booked and released on bail pending arraignment in city court.

The phone remains missing. It was last seen in the area of Broadway and Liberty Street.

Anyone with information on its whereabouts is asked to call Newburgh City Police at 845-561-3131.
