Pair caught with drugs during traffic stop

KINGSTON – A Kingston man and women were arrested Thursday evening following a traffic stop on Colonel Chandler Drive in Kingston.

Members of the Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team stopped the speeding vehicle on Albany Avenue.

The driver, Kevin Craig, 28, and passenger, Susan Whalen, 50, were found in possession of 11 grams of cocaine and three grams of heroin located in a hidden compartment. 

Both are in the Ulster County Jail, charged with three counts each of felony drug possession. Whalen also potentially faces violations with the Ulster County Department of Probation. Craig was also charged with speeding.

Bail was set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond for Whalen and $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond Craig.
