Mom says her high school daughter was attacked by classmate and her parents

POUGHKEEPSIE – The mother of a 14-year-old Poughkeepsie High School freshman said her daughter was attacked twice in the last several days by a fellow student and the other girl’s parents.

Nadine Walters does not know what precipitated the argument between her daughter and the other girl, who she knows, but on Friday, a confrontation escalated outside the school.

“The mother pulled her from behind and the father hit her in her face and the daughter also and the grandmother was there, but the grandmother wasn’t physically involved,” Walters said.

This Tuesday, Walters said her daughter was confronted by the other girl. They wound up outside with the other girl’s family members becoming physical again.

Mrs. Walters said her daughter is still feeling the effects of the incident.

“I I have to make a neurologist appointment because she is still having problems hearing out of that left ear. Her face is still a little bit bruised from all that and she wears glasses and I had to bring her today to get a pair of glasses because she can’t see without the glasses that good,” Walters said.

The police were called to the incident on Tuesday.

A call to Poughkeepsie Police seeking information was not returned. The president of the Poughkeepsie School Board did not respond to an email request for comment.
