Merlin hires general contractor to build Legoland

Royle: "... we are looking
to sign ..."

TOWN OF WALLKILL – Merlin Entertainments, the parent company of Legoland, has hired Holt Construction as the construction manager to build the children’s theme park in the Town of Goshen.

Legoland’s point man for the project, Phil Royle, told members of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce in the Town of Wallkill on Thursday that his company is also working toward signing a project labor agreement with the Hudson Valley Building Trades Council.

“We are still in negotiations with them,” Royle said. “They have got our project labor agreement and we are looking to sign that in the next week or two.”

A project labor agreement ensures that union labor is used to build the facility.

Merlin hopes to have the theme park open for business by April 2020.
