NEW PALTZ – A New Paltz man was arrested on Wednesday on a charge of leaving the scene of a personal injury automobile accident.

New Paltz Police said a 21-year-old woman was struck by a car as she walked in the crosswalk at the intersection of Plattekill Avenue and Main Street in the Village of New Paltz.

The woman was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses provided a description of the vehicle, which left the scene. It was located by police abandoned in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex.
