Business consultant throws her hat into 19th CD ring

PLATTEKILL – Business consultant Susan Sullivan wants to represent the 19th Congressional District in a year-and-a-half and announced on Wednesday that she would run for the Democratic nomination to challenge incumbent Republican Congressman John Faso.

Sullivan said her local roots will be to her advantage in a congressional run.

“I have lived in this district my entire life and I raised my kids here, I went to grade school and high school in the district, and I think this district truly needs someone who understands the differences in the district and someone who has a track record of getting things done in this region and community,” she said.

Sullivan, who is not the only Democrat expressing interest in her party's nod, lists her priorities as job creation, healthcare and the environment.
