Middletown man killed in head-on crash

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Middletown man died when the car he was driving was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by a New York City man.

State Police said Dustin Mills, 30, was driving a east on Route 17M in the Town of Wallkill around 10:20 a.m. Sunday when Robinson Perez, 28, of New York City, was westbound and crossed into the opposite lane of traffic, striking Mills’ car.

Mills died at the scene. Perez was transported to Orange Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

The investigation is continuing and State Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed Perez's car, a blue BMW SUV driving erratically on Route 17 west near Middletown at around 10:15 a.m. to call them at 845-344-5300.

Assisting at the scene were the Town of Wallkill Police and Circleville Fire Department.
