Ulster home sales up in first six months of year

KINGSTON – Sales of single-family homes in Ulster County increased in the first half of the year as compared to the same period in 2016.

A total of 757 homes were sold so far in 2017, compared with 706 during the first six months of last year.

Year to date, the average selling price also increased, going from $229,231 from January to June 2016 to $253,835 this year.

The average days on the market decreased from 146 last year to 132 this year, an indication of the interest in home buying.

In June, sales decreased slightly, from 164 in 2016 to 161 this year. For the month, the average selling price rose from $253,089 to $276,919 and the average days on the market in June dropped from 131 last year 117 this June.
