Two arrested for Town of Ulster armed robbery



KINGSTON – State Police arrested two men in an armed robbery that occurred at a swimming hole off Devil’s Lake Road in East Kingston on July 11.

State troopers, Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies and Town of Ulster Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting the armed robbery. A description of two suspects was included in the dispatch and state trooper spotted the two men matching the descriptions.

Jaqwan Foster, 22, of Kingston and Nicholas Lane, 21, of Connelly, were each charged with felony robbery. Police allege Lane punched the victim and Foster displayed a knife while forcibly taking his wallet and cell phone, which were recovered near the scene.

Foster and Lane were sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail each.
