Yonkers man sentenced in park shooting death


WHITE PLAINS – A Yonkers man was sentenced to 20 years to life in state prison after pleading guilty to a murder charge.

Robert Daniels, 28, attempted to rob Joseph Huguet in Doyle Park in Yonkers on the evening of May 31, 2016 and when the victim refused to turn over personal property, Daniels shot him several times with a .380 semi-automatic pistol. Huguet was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Yonkers Police arrested Daniels two days later.
