Mount Pleasant replaces water meters

TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT – The old water meter reading system in the Town of Mount Pleasant is being replaced with new water meters and meter interface units at every property serving in all 10 water districts.

The meters will allow the town to implement a more efficient reading system and will reduce the reading and operational labor costs of the program, officials said. The new meter reading system will also be less intrusive to customers by eliminating the need for a meter reader to access their property.

The town has contracted with National Metering Services, Inc., which will install the new meters and interface units. The company will send out notices to reach property owners to schedule installation appointments.

The new system will provide the customer with daily consumption readings, leak detection, reverse flow tampering, stopped meter notification and low temperature indications.
