Shoplifter arrested after running over clerk’s foot with car


ELLENVILLE – A Kerhonkson woman is in the Ulster County Jail after she tried to steal a bag full of merchandise from the Dollar General Store in Ellenville and then assaulted a clerk who tried to stop her, Ellenville Police said.

Nancy Ducker, 39, left the store on July 7 with a bag of items and when a cashier tried to stop her in the parking lot, Ducker struggled with the female employee, got into her car and ran over the woman’s foot as she pulled away.

The worker was transported to Ellenville Regional Hospital here she was treated and released.

Police found crushed oxycodone in a folded dollar bill in Ducker’s wallet. She was charged with misdemeanor drug possession, reckless endangerment, petit larceny, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and violation of probation.
