Members of new Kingston ethic board yet to be filled

KINGSTON – The new Kingston City ethics law was put in place late last year, but the new ethics board has yet to be constituted.

Mayor Steven Noble had dissolved the old board last fall and the new five board members have not yet been chosen, he said Thursday.

“The new law requires that two of the members be appointed by me, and three of the members be recommended by members of the common council,” Noble said. We asked the common council back in December to recommend those three appointments. I know the common council is working on that, but we are now under the new law.”

The final say as to who will be appointed to the ethics board is up to the mayor.
