ShopRite to cover theft of proceeds from stolen kettle

TOWN OF WALLKILL – ShopRite Supermarkets announced on Tuesday that it will donate $500 to the Salvation Army to cover the stolen proceeds of its kettle that was placed in front of the supermarket on Route 211 in the Town of Wallkill.  It was estimated that the kettle contained $500.

A man described as being white, about six feet tall and heavy set, grabbed the kettle, tripod and all, and ran off with it last Saturday evening.

ShopRite officials said they would also contribute another $100 towards “this tremendous community partner.”

Wallkill Town Police are investigating the theft.
