Sale of dormant Middletown school approved in low voter turnout

MIDDLETOWN – By a 141 to 17 vote margin on Tuesday, residents in the Middletown Enlarged City School District approved the sale of the Memorial School building.

The district will earn $188,000 for the old brick structure on Linden Avenue in the city. The school has been vacant for over 10 years.

A non-profit organization plans on remodeling and upgrading it for use as an educational facility.
