Wallkill temporarily suspends transit bus service

TOWN OF WALLKILL – The Wallkill transit bus will be temporarily suspending service beginning on September 4 while town officials work on improving the route and adapting it to better fit the needs of riders, they said.

At the same time, the town will add a Dial-A-Bus to accommodate the riders who were using the transit bus in Wallkill outside the City.

The bus service will not be going into the City of Middletown, but will connect to Mid-City Transit so people can get to the Railroad Avenue bus terminal, town officials said.

At the same time, the town will be making changes to its Dial-A-Bus service including focusing on the busiest runs and using drivers to work shifts that handle the highest demand.
