Police release name of man killed by tree

UNION VALE – State Police released the name of the man who was killed when a large tree he was felling with a chainsaw landed on top of him, pinning him underneath.

Zane Grey, 38, of Union Vale was clearing a vacant parcel of land on Mallory Road in Union Vale when the tree pinned him around 11:22 a.m.  He was transported to MidHudson Regional Medical Center where he died.

Police said the tragedy appears to be an accident.
