Crime Stoppers offers reward for hit-and-run driver in fatal crash

MAMARONECK– A tow truck driver, who was out of his vehicle tending to a disabled car, was struck by a hit-and-run driver Thursday morning and later died.

The tow truck driver, a 32-year-old Yonkers man, Salvatore Brescia, was transported to Greenwich, CT hospital where he died, troopers said.

State Police said the accident occurred around 7 a.m. on I-95, the New England Section near exit 18B – White Plains-Mamaroneck Avenue, in Harrison. The accident was investigated by the State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.

The New York State Crime Stoppers organization is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Brescia’s death. To be eligible for the Crime Stoppers’ reward, persons with pertinent information are asked to call the hotline at 866-313-TIPS or visit and leave the confidential tip.
