Maloney to face Hayworth in November

Maloney celebrates his win

ROCK TAVERN – The November election for the new 18th Congressional District will pit Democrat Sean Patrick Maloney against Republican incumbent Nan Hayworth.  Maloney easily won the five-way Democratic primary on Tuesday.

“We are going to tell people we can make Congress work but we have to make a change because it’s broken and it’s not working for middle class families,” he said, adding it is time to vote out the Tea Party. “They had their chance and they have failed. It’s time for new leadership.”

Telling his union supporters at Teamsters local 445 in Rock Tavern that they “represent the very heart of America,” Maloney said he is “sick and tired of people running down working people.”
