Two shot on Kingston city street

KINGSTON – City Police in Kingston are investigating the shootings of a man and woman outside 173 Smith Avenue at around 12 a.m. Monday.

City Police responded to a call of a woman being shot and found a 19-year-old victim. She had been struck while standing outside the residence.

The woman was transported to Kingston Hospital emergency room by ambulance.

Officers were notified by hospital staff that a second victim, a 25-year-old man, was also at the hospital. He had been shot and was taken there by private automobile.

Both victims were transported to Albany Medical Center and were reported in stable condition.

Detectives are following a number of leads in the case.

Kingston Police were assisted by the State Police, Ulster Police Department and Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
