| Tuskegee Airman, former RECAP member dies |
|
NEW YORK – Isaiah Robinson, Jr., a World War II Tuskegee Airman and former member of the Board of Directors of RECAP in Middletown, has died, RECAP Executive Director Charles Darden said Friday. He was 87. He served on the board and was its leader for more than a decade. He also served on the Head Start Policy board and as a foster parent. Middletown School Board Member Roy Paul served with him on the RECAP Board. He was “icon, trailblazer, and patriot,” Paul said. “When I was elected to the school board, he reminisced about his experiences on the Board of Education in New York City and encouraged me to fight for what I believed in despite obstacles or public pressure. I will never forget that,” Paul said.
