Beauty salon employee beaten, robbed

MONTICELLO – A female employee of the Head to Toe Salon in Monticello was attacked after work as she walked to her car at Park Avenue and Broadway in the Village of Monticello Sunday evening, village police said.  The incident occurred at 6:25 p.m.

The 48-year-old woman told Monticello Police that she was approached from behind by a man as she walked to her car.  He demanded money and grabbed the woman when she refused to cooperate.

She was punched in the chest and stomach before the suspect stole a bag containing money and six pairs of scissors.

The man ran off toward Pelton Street.

He is described as a dark skinned black man, between the ages of 20 and 25, six feet tall, wearing a bubble type coat and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Monticello Police in confidence at 845-794-4422.
