Second set of bones recovered in Sullivan County

ROCK HILL – Police don’t believe skeletal remains discovered in a rugged, wooded area off Katrina Falls Road in Rock Hill on Sunday are related to skeletal remains found weeks ago five miles away off Patio Road in Town of Thompson woods.

Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol Division Chief Art Hawker said the latest remains were discovered by hikers around 3 p.m. Sunday.

They called the sheriff’s office, which responded along with the State Police Forensic Unit. The remains appear to have been in the woods for some time, Hawker said.

They were removed to the state police lab for forensic testing.
